Somethings just not true!
by defd inive been here for sometime now.
long enough to know that some peoples hatred toward th wtbts and some of its members are based on wrong information.
for instance: ive read on hear many times that the wt promotes the idea that everyone whos not a witness are not friend material or will be destroyed at armageddon.

I still think when I go into a church I should look at least presentable, minimum of a dress shirt and slacks.

What is your quirkiest quirk?
by damselfly ini, damselfly, can not knowingly eat the little squiggly, umbilical cord things in eggs.
i have to very carefully separate the whites from the yolk and remove the squiggly bits with a knife.
i get gaggy just thinking about them.

Dams, I slept on a mattress like that, it also rotated and vibrated if I put quarters in the little slot on the nightstand.

Kitty, you did say in your opening post that the porcupine attacked the pit bull which I have to agree with mkr I don't think that was the scenario.
I wouldn't wish what happened to that dog on anyone or any animal but I think you have to understand why some people have issues with pit bulls. They are relentless and if trained irresponsibly can be very dangerous. I have to admit that personally I don't like being around them. You are right, its the owner's fault if the dog is vicious, its just that they can cause so much damage if they are.

Forget the 10 Commandments Follow the book of Tao instead....
by EvilForce inas another thread rages on and on over whether we'd be better off following the 10 commandments i would posit that we would be better off following the tao te ching (the holy book for taoists) rather than the bible or 10 commandments.
how many holy wars have been carried on by christians.
how many christians are engaged in war right now?

JT, I understand the advice you are giving, but I think that outside of possibly a handful Tibetan or Shoalin Monks very, very, very few people can achieve the type of introspection you prescribe, especially those that live in Western societies.

I have always been a huge fan of eastern philosophy. Bushido got ahold of me when I was young and has never let go. Taoism is excellent and I enjoy Zen writings as well. I'd say a culture based on Taoism wouldn't be a bad idea at all.

Tetra, you are a good egg, thanks for the heads up and no clown pictures. I hated the freaks from when I was a little kid, then Stephen King's IT just sent me over the top. May Ronald McDonald burn in hell.

Do You Think Bag Searching Violates Your Rights?
by minimus inin view of the transit bombings, do you feel that police should be able to search you or your bags at anytime?

Evil, I have to say that I agree with your sentiments. I was chuckling darkly at your post where you mentioned being asked for your papers. You are right, this stuff is all closing the barn door after the fact, spend the time, money, etc on intelligence operations not turning the police into storm troops.
